Handling the now common use of Separate Surname as Contact Names

There is an upsurge in the use of Surname wher the contact and their partner eitherchoose to retain the surname or in some instances may combine their birth surname and their married partners name.

Currently , ACT will allow the setting p of a joint name in the contact field but does not allow for the use of this combination in a Surname nor in a sSlutation.

It can be resolved by changin the salutation to  handle either the two First Namesor even the First & Surname butr the issue  of addresss settings in letters or othe documents  requires modifiicacton of the address settings to manage his change when creating templates.

It is easy to chanbe the Salutation to match the Contacs names  but not so simple to manage for Mail and other settings where the two reqire boyth a Salutation and  a saparate Address name using the Conacts two distinct  full or surnames

How should this be handled in th current  setup od Contact Records??
