I am currently using ACT! 2013 v15.0.301.0 with a WIndows 8 Pro OS. I have made no changes or upgrades to my computer or software and the ACT 2013 database has been functioning well.
This morning, while trying to open a history item for review, I received the error message: Object reference not set to an instance of an object. At which time, ACT! closes down.
Items I have tried to resolve issue:
-Database Check and Repair (no issues)
-Deleted Preferences File and reset preferences
Does anyone have additional thoughts?

Have you tried restarting the computer?

Yes, I did shutdown the computer and do a restart.
This was an excellent thought though. I should have included it in my list.

The Demo Database 2013 works fine.
All history items in my current database fail as indicated in my first post.
The history is posting successfully, I just am unable to view a hsitory item.
