Groups and Sub Groups

Why don't sub group membership automaticly roll up to membership in the parent group?  I can't think of a single reason that a contact would be in a sub group and not in the parent group as well.  I think that is the definition of Sub Group.  New features are nice, but old features actually working are what keeps customers loyal.

Re: Groups and Sub Groups

I can think of cases where the sub-group members would not want to be included in the parent group. I can also see problems when you are using dynamic groups though if you do use dynamic groups you could make the query for the parent group such that it included all the contacts in the sub-groups.

A quick one, real estate properties. Main group for and office building or similar type multi-unit property, sub-groups for the individual offices or rental units. I actually did a report for one like that.
