We are a business brokerage and use Groups to track all the potential buyers who have made inquiries or had showings of our listings. Every time there is an inquiry or a showing, someone adds that contact to the group for our listing. I would like to be able to see when this contact was added to the group by date. This would correspond to the time the inquiry or showing happened. Is there a record of when a contact gets added to a group and can I run a query on that? If not, the alternative is to introduce a field in the database.

By default there isn't a field that contains the date a contact was added to a Group. If you want to use Dynamic Criteria and a drop-down field on the Contact Detail view - you can set the drop-down list to record to history each time it changes. Your drop down choices would, of course, equate to your companies for easy reference.
