Filters are not functional on opportunities and task lists

-ACT 2010 premium
-Windows 7

-Local install
1. ACT and SQL server 2005 were uninstalled and then manually wiped from the comupter using knowledge base articles  28078 and 23401
2. Reinstall ACT 2010

3. Checked actdiag and ensured that ACT is in the original state. Only the demo Database is attached to the sql server.

4. Open demo database

5. Click opportunities button

Problem: the Status and Stage dropdown menus exist, but there is no "carrot" to engage the dropdown.  Therefore the dropdown lists are frozen in the "All" state.  I fields in question can gain focus, but they cannot be edited.  The opportunity lists that are provided in the demo database seem to be behaving properly when the other dropdown lists, Dates and Process, are used.  Additionally, in the list there are multiple statuses and stages in the ops including: Open and Closed; Negotiation and Presentation. This issue also presents itself in the Task List's Types dropdown.

This problem originally existed in the remote database, but I have detacted that database and reinstalled the program to eliminate the DB as the problem.  Now the problem exist in the Demo DB with a fresh install.  This is one of 7 users.  Also I have installed the program over countless computers over the last 4 years and have not seen the problem previously or on the current users computers.

Please Advise.

Re: Filters are not functional on opportunities and task lists

That will often happen if you have the screen fonts set to other than 96 dpi.
