Using ACT Premium Web in Chrome browser
I go to Tools>Design Layouts>Contact
And the layout window pops up.
I want to move a User field from the tab "User Fields" and place it in the main Contact window.
I deleted the field "User 6" and added a new field.
The Please Choose Field window pops up and I look for User 6 to select it but it is not displayed in the list of available fields.
I logged out, relogged in, rebooted, made coffee....still no field User 6 available to be attached to a new field.
If I open the Properties box, it is not in the list of used fields. The User 6 (Text) is there but not the User 6 (Field).
How do I get this option to show up in the Select Field pop-up box when creating a new field?

And when you re-created User 6 you created a regular character field?
Have you tried to create another character field to see if it appears in the Choose Field pop up box?

I went into the Define Fields and User 6 data is completely gone.
I assumed in Design Layout I was simply deleting the location of the field. Crazy.
I guess I need to recreate the field.

I found User 6 data under "Groups" but it won't allow me to switch it to "Contact" or is that even possible?

Ah ok - that field will be held in the Group database table. You need it in the Contacts table - so yes you will need to re-create it.
Can't transfer the field.
