I have Act 2010 and I can no longer use merge, all is fine intil I get the merging status bar. It staysup for a while then goes away without any emails sent. This had to be after an update, because I have done this many times before.

I had this problem at one of my clients and running ACT! as Adminstrator, turning UAC off did not resolve the issue. It turns out that Word had Protected View enabled and that prevented ACT! from completing the mail merge. Check to see if Protected View is enabled in Word and if so turn it off and then retry your mail merge.
