Export Does Not Accurately Export Data

I performed an export in Act 9 to include a few date fields, and the data that is exported is not the data in the contact record-- in one case the date was off by several years (a value of 06/22/08 returned as 11/20/07)-- has anyone else run into this issue?

Are you exporting to Text or Excel?

Does it happen for any record?

What version of ACT! (the full build from Help | About)?

Thanks for dropping in-- here is the requested info:

 Premium for Workgroups 9, version 9.0.1.162, hotfix 2

 

Export into .csv format, and then import into Excel.

 

 

It does not happen for all records, just a few.

Is the data wrong in the CSV before going to Excel?

Tried removing the date in the field and re-entering it?

 

Why not cut out the middle man and go directly to Excel as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

The CSV file is corrupt as well.

 

We can not go directly to Excel-- the export fails every time we try (60 fields for 1600 clients)-- and we have to do 18 separate exports because we have 18 discrete "lines" of data to line up.

How does the export fail from the Contact List to Excel? What error?

 

Have you tried running a database repair as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

Computer freezes-- even with the latest processor and the most memory that Windows XP Pro will accept in a 32 bit environment.  The first time it happened I left my workstation on over the weekend and it still did not complete.

 

 

I run the check and repair at least monthly.

Yes... but run the repair functions in the article I posted. Not the same.

 

After, try the Excel export again... and, if it fails, after you reboot, see if there was anything in the Windows Event Log of the ACT! LogViewer as per this ACT! Knowledge Base article -

thanks for all your input-- I will run the steps suggested in the morning (Saturday, can lock the database) and post my findings.

Make sure you have reliable backups before you start... Even worth a test Restore _ As to a different name to be sure
