Event Log/Audit Trail?

We are running Act 2008 Premium with 6 users.  A couple of days ago, we realized that several hundred contacts (out of a database of around 5,000) had been accidentally deleted.  We were able to restore them from a backup, but we'd like to find out how this happened.  Is there an event log file somewhere that records the date/time that contacts were deleted from the database?

Thanks -

Re: Event Log/Audit Trail?

When contacts are deleted there is a history entry made in the My record of the user doing the deletion.

Re: Event Log/Audit Trail?

Thanks for the quick response Roy.  We think it happened as a result of a user synchronizing their Blackberry and interrupting in mid-sync to answer the phone.  I checked the user's history on their system and didn't see the deletions (as you would when they do it on purpose).  Are there any system files that record this information?

None that I know of. There are a number of log files in ACTDIAG and you might check there.
