Error "saving a copy of empty database"

Have Sage ACT Premium 2011 running a central database on a Windows 2008R2 server with a number of remote clients that sync with the database.

Trying to create an empty copy of the database, used the Save Copy As from the file menu and entered the required information but get the error "The database failed to copy due to the following reason: Error in the application"

Any idea's how I can get my empty database?

Did you specify a system (not mapped) drive?

Since you are using Windows 2008, try running the ACT! program 'As Administrator'.

To do this: close Act! > right click on the Act! icon > select 'Run As Administrator' > test creating a copy.

HI Mike,

Tried that as well but still get the same error. Have tried doing a database check and reindex but that doesn't help.

Test using the Demo database. Open the Demo, attempt to create empty copy > successful or same error?

Re: Error "saving a copy of empty database"

I switched to the demo database and it worked, then I switched back to the database we use and the save as worked. Not sure why it had the error before but thanks for the assistance.

Not sure exactly what switching databases cleared up, but glad to hear it has been resolved! Thanks for the update.
