I am trying to restore a backup(zip) into a new location so that we can pull some data out of it that was deleted from the current database.
I try to restore the zip file to my desktop and get the following error.
at act.framework.actframework.faillogon(exception ex, tracdecategory tcat, tracelevel tlevel)
at act.framework.logon(string username, string password, string database type, stringdatabashost, string database name, boolean fireEvents, boolean suppressTierCheck,......
i used a username and password with administrative previldeges on the database.

i cannot do a restore as since i need to restore the database to a new location with a new database name. The original database is fine except a user deleted several customers in the database. I was trying to restore the database to a different location so that we could export and then import the missing customers.

You are correct, that is the option i am using and once it starts the restore process i get the error mentioned above. Do i have to log on with the Actadmin acount to do the restore? i was using a user account with administrative access.
