Error messages when attempting to backup

I have two databases.  One successfully backed up. When attempting to backup the larger database, I am getting various messages that say various versios of "...cannot access (various .tmp files) because it is being used by another process."  Each time, the file referred to is different.  I have no other applications open.  I even ran a CCleaner and only opened up ACT and attempted the backup.

 

What might be the cause and solution?

 

P.S. I am attempting to back up to my personal hard drive so we can have a secondary backup in the event something happens to our server.  We are able to back up to the server without issue.

Already had that article.  Did not work.  My drive has plenty of space but will not back up.  our IT guy is hesitant to attempt Part B.
