Product: Act! Premium
OS: Windows 7
Database: Shared SQL Server 2008
This is a heavily customised deployment of Act!
Sometimes, when a user clicks on the History button (to see notes added in the history of a Contact), the following error occurs, and is followed by a freeze/crash of Act!:
In the Event Viewer log, at the same time, there is:
Framework Version: v4.0.30319
Description: The process was terminated due to an unhandled exception.
Exception Info: System.InvalidOperationException
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.MarshaledInvoke(System.Windows.Forms.Control, System.Delegate, System.Object, Boolean)
at System.Windows.Forms.Control.BeginInvoke(System.Delegate, System.Object)
at System.Windows.Forms.WindowsFormsSynchronizationContext.Post(System.Threading.SendOrPostCallback, System.Object)
As an ex-developer, I believe this is very likely due to a failure to release/deallocate handles in the code.
My question is two-fold:
1) Is there a workaround, or a setting that could be teaked (either in Windows or in Act!) to prevent this behaviour?
2) Is this problem resolved in Act! v17
Kind regards, and hi folks!
