Occurs in ACT! 2011 Premium (V 13.0.401.0 HotFix 2) and ACT! 2011 Pro (v13.0.401.0 HotFix 2) during setup.
Prevents setting up of Outlook in ACT! Preferences. Install is completed as Australian/New Zealand version and System Settings are Regional Settings /Date&Time Settings all set to New Zealand
Time Zone GMT +12 hrs Auckland/Wellington
ACT! DIagnostics shows the Date Time Setting as GMT-12 International Date Line West . Reset does not rectify.

Thanks for your input. You are correct - the solution offered by José Roberto dos Santos which is mentioned in Mike's blog does resolve the issue for New Zealand Users.
There are three separate streams running on this that should have been linked or combined earlier. I will close this stream as resolved and wait on action by Glenn as moderator to ensure the others are updated.

This message has been seen with several regional settings. Here is a link to another discusson in the community describing the issue and work-around: String Not Recognized as Valid Date Time.

Greg given this impact in international versions are you able to give us any idea of a fix for this issue as it is just not practical to change the regional settings as one of the workarounds as this would render activities useless

We are getting very bad feedback from clients with rollout of the ACT! 2011 program causing backlash as the Activities, Calendars and general error messages associated with this issue prevent them from having a good experience of the Upgrade or New solutions.
Several sites are now affected as their SA entitlements are released to them.
Imperative we get some feedback on What is being done to resolve the issue and How Soon we can expect a patch.

At this time, we have no information as to when this issue will be addressed. Generally details on 'fixes' are not given until the fix is ready to be released.
Another work-around (mentioned in another post) is:
After opening Act! and receiving the error: use the File > Close option to close the database but not the Act! application. Then use File > select database from recent list (at bottom of File menu) to reopen the database. The error will not be presented and the calendar will function normally.

There is a new twist to this problem showing up as an ACT! error
"Resolution of the dependency failed, type = "Act.UI.AvailControl", name= "''", Exception message is: The current build operation [build key Build Key[Act.UI.AvailControl.null]]failed. The string was not recognised as a valid Date Time. There is a unknown word starting at index 5 [Strategy type BuildPlanStrategy, index 3] "

The workaround does not fix all issues in the Asia Pacific version - we still get errors in the Calendar Views
and, there are some suspect results showing up in Recurring Activities with duplications in the activities (still being investigated)

Please install the free 14 days trial version ACT!Translator2011 from www.acttranslator.com and leave the regional settings to anyhing you want. I'd love to know if that solves these problems. If it does I might be able to help you.
