Re: Error Message Act will not start up

Hello Ed,
What version of ACT! do you have installed?
What operating system does your computer use?
Did you just install the program or an update to the program?
Did this issue just start happening or have not been able to open at all?

Re: Error Message Act will not start up

Problem resolved. I'm in Widows7 and recently installed a Norton Anti-virus. I believe that Norton may have reset user account controls on and too high which apparently corrupted some ACT files so it would not open. A SAGE tech resolved the issue. Sorry for not waiting for your help but w/o ACT I was out of business, no contacts, phone numbers, etc!

That's as good as an explanation as I can provide. She was very pleasant and helpful but it was all "Greek" to me............

Re: Error Message Act will not start up

Glad to hear you got it resolved. The likely cause was Norton blocking essential functions in ACT!, so the tech had to add program exceptions to Norton for ACT! and SQL so it would not interfere with them.
