Employee left company and I can't access the database

We are using Act! Premium 2007 on XP Professional Service Pack 3.  An employee left the company and now I, as admin, cannot access his data that shows him as manager.   How can I fix this problem?

Re: Employee left company and I can't access the database

The problem was solved by the following:

working on the server logged-in as the employee

Backed up database

Lookup of the employee's records using other fields..record manager

Did a replace field from his name to mine.

Synced from my computer and problem solved.

What do you mean you can't access it?

You can't see the data or you can't modify it?

I can't see the data from my personal database.  If I go on the server, I can see it all.

Then, most likely, you need to change the sync set to send those records to you

I agree with Mike's assessment, however, I would add that in the future you should always work with a clean, unrestricted sync set for Admin purposes. RDB files a limited enough without restricting access to some of the records, and this limitation would become even more serious in the unlikely event your RDB file is needed to restore the master database.

For security, an unrestricted RBD is not always possible... proper backup procedures is the right way to be able to restore the master

Re: Employee left company and I can't access the database

Which meanes either that they were Private or Limited Access (you might want to change that), or that this added them to your sync set.

BTW: You can change the access to a Lookup of Contacts with - Contacts | Edit Contact Access
