Email & Mail Merge

I can't locate information on the distinction between 'Write>Email message (from template)' and 'Write>Mail merge'.  Can anyone provide some insight?

Write email message from template will allow you send email to current contact that is opened
write mail merge will allow you to send email to a group of contacts

That can't be the only thing.  I just did a test Write>Email message (from template) with 30 contacts highlighted.  It sent the email to all 30.
Any other differences I should be aware of? I;m wondering what advantage one has over the other.

I just tried Write > email from template with multiple contacts highlighlit in the Contact list and it does send to all... interesting, I didn't know that.
 
But Mail Merge has more options in the wizard:
  • Email, Print, Preview in the word processor
  • Select a Group or Company
  • Enter a subject for the email
  • Set the history type
  • Attach files
  • Set how to handle contacts without email addresses

Ah...so basically the same, but Mail Merge had a few more capabilities.  Thank you!!

Well having a subject on the emails is pretty important even if you don't need the other functions
