Editing the Opportunity Tab

Is there a way to rename the "Opportunity" tab to something else?  I see that some of the tabs can be renamed and that newly added tabs can be edited, but the opportunity tab seems locked.

Not by default... I think there are some add-ons that can do this if you really need it
