Every time I go to Lead Capture and Get Leads for my email subscriber group, contacts keep reappearing that have been deleted because they are duplicates. How do I permanently delete duplicates from this group?

When I go to the Admin tab of Tools > Preferences, the option to enable duplicate checking is grayed out. I have a group in Act! where I have our email subscribers from our newsletter, and I have duplicate contacts in this group I wish to remove.
