I'm doing a contacts import from CSV file on a remote database. Duplicate checking is enabled on the publisher database and that setting is not able to be changed on the remote database.
I'm checking duplicates for contact then company.
It is however importing the duplicates!
Any idea why? (or does duplicate checking just not work?)

I think those are local preferences that do not come from the server.
You may need to make this configuration locally (on the remote database)
What I would do is 1. open the CSV file in Excel (Separating columns) 2. From the list view of the contacts in the remote database I export to Excel to obtain the names of the fields 3. I put the information from Excel (CSV) to the next Excel from ACT! (This way I have an excel with the information and the same field names) 4. I import data from Last Excel.
I'm not the most experienced but is an idea
