Unfortunately I dont recall if I checked the actual folder or whether I was looking through the list of templates via the Act menus to begin with so I dont really know whether they had synced in the first place and I was just not seeing them or whether its a requirement to set Word onthe server machine. Any how its working.
ps. I'd like to put a link to certain templates on the menu list for all users, is there any automatic way to do this or does it have to be manually done on each users machine.

Installing Word on the server machine did resolve the issue for some reason and thats what support suggested I do. I'm also not sure there was a synching issue in the first place or whether it was just due to the selection of the 'Act Word Processor' on the server causing the Word documents not to show up. Anyway its resolved now.
I guess this doesn't work too well if I'm creating the template menus on a remote where the directory structure is different to the LAN users.
