Design Layouts

I have Act 2009 v11.0.  The main database has some design layout changes for the contact records.  However, for the users across the network or that sync via the Internet, these layout changes (a few additional fields) are not showing up.  I checked the main database to see where these files are stored.  They seem to be on the remote machine, but the location is pointing back to the main database.  Do I need to change this and if so, how?

Re: Design Layouts

Ok - I figured it out.  The design layout was only for 1024x768.  If someone is using a different size screen resolution, they didn't get the changes.  I guess I need to change the design layout for each size possible.  New to Act design - sorry.

Re: Design Layouts

Don't feel bad. I've done it myself; spent ages creating a new screen layout on a "standard" large resolution screen only to find out that some users have a low res screen and can't view the whole layout without scrolling.

Generally best to create and save modified layouts with a new name. These are automatically available to others on the network or with synchronised copies, BUT the other users need to select the new layout name the first time they come to use it. After that it becomes the default each time they open ACT! And, each user can have a layout design that fits their screen, although there is a benefit in standardising throughout the organisation.
