Deny lookup

Hello all,

I m looking for a way to separate the database and allow look-up on certain contacts to certain staff and deny others.

for instance:
X only have access to supplier (specific category)
Y only have access to customers (specific category)

I though about creating two database but maintenance will be to complicated... Is there a simpler way?
I know we can set security access in SQL...
