Database not accesable

I have ACT 2013 Premium, Windows 10. I thought I have backed up my database yesterday, cannot find it anywhere, however I did find the .adf file and .pad and .alf files. When I try to open the dataabase by using any of the 3 it says it is not accessable and check network settings. I deperately need help. Thanks so much.

Close Act If not already in the Windows Services console, press the Windows Key + R In the Run dialog, type services.msc, then press Enter or click OK Right-click either SQL Server (ACT7) Choose either Start, or Restart Try opening Act again and the db

Re: Database not accesable

Open SQL serer configuration manager
Expand SQL Server Network Configuration
Click on ACT7
Make sure Shared Memory, Named Pipes and TCP/IP are all enabled.
Restart the SQL ACT7 service

If this doesn't work
Have a look in the application event viewer for any ACT errors.

Re: Database not accesable

It says the SQL Browser service was unable to process a client request in the Event Log

Re: Database not accesable

Done that several times, I think part of the problem is that it never saved the zip file. All I have is the ADF ALF PAD on my desktop.

Re: Database not accesable

Try
Delete the .pad file
open Act from the start menu
click file - open/share database
Click browse for database
Change the file type dropdown to .ADF
Navigate to your adf file then try Open.

Re: Database not accesable

On your desktop? Is that where they were before?
Normally, they would be in Documents > ACT > ACT Data
Can you start ACTDIAG? If so, Databases > Database Details ... It should have the path there
