Custom Tables Tech Support

We began using custom tables in January 2019 and it was amazing.  Now it is moving so slow it is crippling our business. We have multiple databases and this is only happening on one of the databases. We are using ACT Premium Plus version 21.  ACT is installed on a shared server.  I'm not what operating system we are using on the server, but I will find out tomorrow.  Can anyone point me in the right direction?

On the server make a backup and then do a repair under tools, database maintenance.

 

If the new table has been linked to more than 2 parent tables this can also cause issues as the database grows.

How would I know if the table is linked to a parent table?  As far as I know there is only one table.

When the custom table is set up it can be connected to a single parent such as Contact or to more than one parent, Contact, Group, Company or Opportunity. A quick check to see if the custom is linked to more than one parent is to see if there is a tab for the custom table.
