Is there any way to create an opportunity report for a filtered look up?
i.e If I wanted to run a process and stage report for a particular campaign (i.e a tradeshow)? I don't want to see all campaigns, just one. We don't want to look at 52 pages for a one page report.
We attach multiple companies (designer, purchaser and end user) and contacts to an opportunity. So I can't create a contact look up and then run the report - I'd get too many duplicates.

I'm just guessing, but what if you added a Contact Name FIELD to the opportunity Layout. First create the new Opportunity field, then apply it to your Opportunity Layout. Using this new field may allow you to better tune your Lookup results as well as reporting results?
You may even want to consider adding a Opportunity Campaign Field for your Campaigns?

What about performing a Lookup from Opportunity List View to achieve desired results? and Possibly by adding suggested new fields in my previous post?
If that works, then a Query might also be set up and added to the Custom Commands Toolbar?

The problem with running a look up using the contact field is that there are multiple contacts on each opportunity.
i.e one opportunity has about 4-5 contacts:
1. Designer at Design Company
2. Engineer at Installation Company
3. Salesperson at Installation Company
4. End User at End Customer Company

I know exactly what you mean there and that is why I added a New Contact Name Field to the Opp Layout. Solved my problem.
I still add multiple contacts to my opportunities though. I thought that might be your problem also.
You can call the Opp field name something like Primary_Opp_Contact ? Or Opp_Primary_Contact?
Then add it to your Opp Layout so you can use it as a part of your filter lookup process...
I guess I Perform my lookup's in detail view and rite mouse click the fields I want to lookup , then further narrow my lookup's as needed to achieve desired results before reporting.

As Roy stares this is not possible in ACT reports as you do not get the option to filter by lookup and trying to report with multiple contact entries is also a challenge.
Durkin Reports is the way forward and Roy is a wiz at designing them.

Very possible and I have done this for years now.. Happy to demonstrate it in a gotomeeting session for cshannon
There is a small trick to it.
