Me and my co-workers have had a lot of trouble using ACT! Premium for Workgroups while we have Outlook up and running. there seems to be a clear link between the crash and the 2 programs because we do not get crashes when just one of the two programs is active. I assume there is a conflict somewhere but my question is how do we rectify it?

What version of ACT! are you using (via Help|About in the ACT! application)?
What operating system(s) and service pack levels?
What edition of Outlook and service pack level?
What is the procedure taken that results in the error?
Can you supply an image link to the error encountered?

Thanks for your response.
I m using ACT! by Sage Premium 2008 (10.0) (ST Edition) Version 10.0.3.182, Hotfix 1
Windows XP Version 2002 Service pack 3
Outlook 2007 SP2 MSO 12.0.6425.1000
There is no rpocedure taken that results in the error. We can be using both programs for hours and suddenly the Generic Host error message pops up and the screens are frozen. But only the Outlook (and sometimes Excel) screens. I cannot supply an image link because when I try and capture the error message I cant copy it to either Word or Excel because they are frozen.
There is clealry a correlation between ACT and Outlook because it is only the Office programs that get frozen and it only happenes when ACT is up. Other programs (such as MAS200) continue to operate and can be closed out.

I would like you to try this.
1) Uninstall ACT! from the machines experiencing the issue.
2) Run the Office Diagnostics from Help|About in Outlook.
3) Reboot the machine.
4) Apply all critical and recommended updates from Microsoft.
5) Reinstall ACT! and check ACT.com for any additional hotfixes for your 10.03 product, I believe there is a hotfix 3, which is cumulative for all prior hotfixes.
6) Test for the condition you reported.
Post your findings when possible.
