Hello,

 

I am using Act! Premium Version 18.1.103.0 an I am able to set the default value.

The problem became visible when upgrading from 18.1 to 18.2 so your experience is what we would expect.

Hi all

I found the defaultvalue in the SQL table TBL_SYSCOLUMN

 

select * from TBL_SYSCOLUMN
where DEFAULTVALUE='thevalue'

So you may find the informaiton. But I am not able to change the value with an SQL update command:

update TBL_SYSCOLUMN
set DEFAULTVALUE='Deutschland'
where COLUMNID='399AE90F-B869-4711-965A-6EF96C82AC81'

Results with error:

Column 'BUSINESS_COUNTRYNAME' in table 'TBL_CONTACT' is invalid for creating a default constraint.
Meldung 1750, Ebene 16, Status 0, Zeile 2
Could not create constraint or index. See previous errors.

Hi Stefan,

This is not currently something we can help you with due to the function not currently being supported in v18. We've tried making changes to the database tables but have been unable to set a default value manually.

If there is a 'stuck' default value in the field, we can work with you on an individual basis to remove this value.

Hi Stefan,

Give us call on +41 435 082 364 and speak to a technician who will be able to get the process started.
The database will need to be sent over to us for further investigation. We can't guarantee that it will be possible to remove the default value, but we will attempt to do so.

Was there any resolution to this? I have the same problem in Act 19 and it is quite annoying to my salespeople.

Was this a new database created in ACT 19 or a converted earlier database?

It was converted from V18. We have only had act for about 5 months now. Still in the implementation phase of things and I know this will be a large annoyance once it rolls out to the rest of the company.

Hi nfuller,

 

This defect is still currently outstanding. If you have a value stuck in the Country default value field, we can attempt to remove the value for you, however we can't guarantee it will be possible. This would require you sending over your database to our database services team.

Give us call on 866 873 2006 and speak to a technician who will be able to get the process started.
