Has anyone noticed in Act! Premium 18.2 the default value for the Country field is greyed out in Contacts?  Companies works as expected.

 

I can enter a value into the default value field in Act! Premium Version 17.2.217.0, Hot Fix 2

I can't enter a value into the default value field in Act! Premium Version 18.2.53.0, Update 2

If I upgrade the database from Act! Premium Version 17.2.217.0, Hot Fix 2 to work with Act! Premium Version 18.2.53.0, Update 2 the default value is greyed out but has the value Australia.

Hi Damon, I can confirm this behaviour in my v18.2 Update 2 ... I'll pass it on to the QA people

Apparently this was also an issue in v18.1 ... I'm trying to see if there's a defect notice for it

Thanks for reporting this.
After upgrading and the previous default becomes 'locked in', are new contacts actually being created with the default country 'Australia'?

Yes when we create a new contact in the upgraded DB wiht the locked in  default, Australia has populated the country field

Hi Rachel,

I'm sorry, I don't currently have an estimate as to when this will be resolved.
The defect remains logged and will be addressed as our development resource becomes available.

Are you affected by this issue? Do you wish to set a new default value for this field, or do you have a value that has now become 'locked in'?

Is it possible to set a new default value for the country with an SQL command? I am affected by this issue with a customer.
