I have a married couple (sharing 1 contact record) who is divorcing. I plan to make the original record the husband's. I plan to create a new contact record for the ex-wife and copy some of the pertinent notes from the husband's record to her's. Is there a way to do this?

Highlight the ones you want to copy and then use CTRL+C go to the record you want to put them into and use CTRL+V for paste.

But be aware that the record manager of those items you paste will be you, and not whoever created them originally. May not be an issue for you.

In some cases, the hot keys may not work. Try this:
- Highlight notes to copy
- On main menu, go to Edit > Copy
- Go to contact you want tp paste to
- Go to their Notes tab and click under the Notes tab
- Go to menu and click Edit > Paste
Note that the pasted notes entry will have you as the record manager, regardless of the record manager of the copied notes entry.
Note: Effective 6/1/13, Sage no longers provides support for the Act! software. This is now provided by Swiftpage.

Pasting the copied data into a new note was the step I was leaving out (I was thinking that by copying the highlighted notes and then pasting them into the Notes tab would copy them).
Thanks Paul, Rita, and Greig for your contributions.

Is it possible to accomplish this across databases?
I've tried using the web-based service as well but the notes don't seem to stay on the clipboard unless it's within the same database.
