You can unlock through the ACT! Diagnostics utility: - Windows Start button, in the Search box type "actdiag" - Databases > Database List - Click the box to left of the ACT2013Demo database to select it - Right-click and select Unlock Database
Opening the demo will determine if the error in your database is potentially caused by a damaged layout file
