Contact List - Companies

Once I do a look up and I am in the contact list, is there a way to just sort out the duplicate companies? For example I do a lookup of Akron Ohio. I may have companies listed with multiple contacts but I dont care about the contacts I just want a list of the companies.

What if you started your search in either the Company Detail, or the Company List views.  e.g. If I am in the Company Detail view, right click on the State, and choose Lookup State/Starts With=CA, I automatically get a Company List view of the results.

Thanks- I thought of that but that would require having all the companies defined and we do not. We have such a large database not enough time to define all companies only the big ones.

Re: Contact List - Companies

there are two add-ons that will do this en-masse:

The Company Wizard for $49 at:

http://www.egenconsulting.com/egcproducts.html

which I've used and it works perfectly, and another that I cannot find, but I think it's from:

http://www.tnhg.com/index.html

It's not on the site, but I'm pretty sure they have one.

Anyway, either of these will take your whole database, and with just a few clicks, every record will have not only a company, but will be linked (if you want that, it's an option).

Anyway, worth the few dollars if you use Companies extensively...
