Clearing Activities

Hello, I may be missing something obvious here so any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

Area of concern:              Clearing Activities

Scenario:                             We have found that on occasion the box marked “Add activities to Contact History” has been unchecked in the clear activity dialogue box.  At this point the user has then filled information into the more details section at the bottom of the clear activity dialogue box and clicked ‘ok’ to clear the activity.  As the box was unchecked, the information does not appear in the contacts history, as you would expect.  However in cases where this box was checked in error there does not appear to be a way of getting the information back again.  Un-clearing the activity does not bring the information up in the details tab and re-clearing it afterwards does not show the information in the details box where it was originally placed.  I was of the impression the check box was an option not to save the details on the history, not an option to prevent the details that have been typed in from displaying anywhere and effectively remove/detach them from the activity.
