Cleaning up exported database suggestions

We are planning to move from Act 6 to 2010.  Ive done conversion testing and the data seems intact.  I exported the data out as well as csv file to look at in excel and  sort and look for data gaps.  Is there an easy way to put that data back into act 2010?  For example if I had one colum with a lot of bad data and I cleaned it up  can it be loaded back into Act without screweing anything else up?

Any feedback would be helpful.  Thanks

Not without a special merge utility. My suggestion would be OakMerge.

Re: Cleaning up exported database suggestions

Generally, I'd sugest to do this cleanup within the contact list of the converted database. If it more convenient to do outside, one must be careful of creating duplicates upon returning the data to ACT.  FOr the most precise behavior, i'd run and account number addin prior to exporting to guarantee proper import at a later time. Finally, there are great import tools available which let you import in specifically the data you would like to return to ACT and leave the rest intact.  Oakmerge is one of these tools.  http://www.oakpro.com/prod03_OAKMerge.htm  Also, most ACT consultants provide this type of service.
