Checking SQL Server Status

I'm trying to install Sage ACT 2012 Premium on one computer that causing me headaches.

The install gets to about 90% of Checking SQL Server Status and just sits there. I've uninstalled the old version of ACT 2010 and it still wont pass this point. There was one time that it passed this point but gave an error about the password not being right for the SQL database (ACT 07).

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks

Re: Checking SQL Server Status

Your issue is coming during the upgrade from MS SQL 2005 to MS SQL 2008.  Since the installation has failed to recognize the ACT7 instance password, I would recommend uninstalling Sage ACT! (if present) and all MS SQL 2005 components (assuming no other applications use it).  Once removed, reboot the computer and then attempt ACT! installation.

If MS SQL 2008 continues to fail to install, here is an article for manually creating the MS SQL 2008 ACT7 instance: KB Article 26994
