Cdn. Financial Advisors using Act! For Financial Advisors

We are being forced off our old CRM, and are considering using Act for FP. We do insurance and investments in Montreal,Qc.

Would love to compare notes with anyone else who made jump from CDS (ezData) or ContactPartner.

Areas of concern:
Migration of old data
Ability to customize
Integration with Outlook
integration with Blackberry

Tks!

The Programs you have mentioned, CDS and ContactPartner;  Do they have a way of exporting your contact data to a .txt or .csv file?  If you are looking for more than that, such as notes/historys/opportunities/activites (calendar), you'll probably be looking for a custom import job.

ACT! for FP or any version of ACT! is easily customized.  With a minimal amount of work, custom fields can be created and added.  A little bit more practice and it will even look nice!

Out of the box, ACT! can easily synchronize Calendar and Contact information with Outlook.  There are a few addon products that can enhance the experience, but the initial integration works pretty well.

ACT! can synch to a Blackberry in a few different ways.  If you sync your ACT! calendar to Outlook, then sync your Outlook calendar to your phone, that's one way.  To sync contact, calendar, notes, etc... you'll be looking at 3rd party software.  There are a few addons out there that can do this very well.
