Well another Laptop failed 1 month out of warranty so I had to set up a new one. Act had to be reinstalled from scratch as the Windows "backup" was useless as usual.
My databases are in the My Documents/Act/Act11 and my demo is in the My Documents/Act/Act12 folder. I can open the demo database but my live databases fail to open on a "check Network error"
Anyone know about this? I am using Windows XP

It sounds like you copied your backup files from the original machine and placed them on this new computer - as such the computer name has changed. Review the article and go to the section entitled 'Pad File is Damaged'.
