Can you install ACT 2010 with an ACT 2011 License?

My company bought me a copy of ACT 2011, but i need to connect to the act server that is 2010.  I read somewhere online that since my version is newer that this wouldn't work.  Is ACT licensed so we can install older versions with a newer license?

Hello birdman,
Welcome to the Sage ACT! Community. Each version of ACT! has it's own license, so you cannot register a version with a serial number from a different version. In addition, in order for you access the server hosting ACT! 2010, you would also need to have 2010 installed and properly registered. If your company has an available license for 2010, you should be able to register 2010 on your machine using the same serial number they used.

Yes, you can still purchase 2010 licenses through our Sales Dept. Call either (877)501-4496 if your company currently has less than 10 licenses, or (888)855-5222 if they currently have more than 10. You can also contact an ACT! Certified Consultant (ACC) via: http://www.act.com/Partners/Certified-Consultants
