Act Prem 2011 Hotfix 2. Sales team committed to using ACT for Calendar and Contacts. 8000 contacts, inside product specialist and sales manager with access to all contacts, 4 outside sales. Outside sales sync their territory, approx 2000 each. Problem is when outside sales tries to check the calendar of the inside people they can only see activities that are scheduled with contacts in their sync set. If they want to schedule the product specialist for a meeting they only see part of his schedule. Conflict checking will not pick it up either. Are we missing something? Is there a way to see the full calendar of the inside people with out syncing all 8000 contacts to the outside people?

Activities are attached to the contacts and inherit the security of those contacts. So, if a contact is not syncing or if a user does not have access to that contact due to a sync set criteria or limited access being set, they will not be able to see activities attached to that contact.

How is a Sales Team that is trying to coordinate their calendars supposed to function if they can only see part of the other member’s calendars? Syncing all contacts to all team members is not an acceptable solution for our team.

The only thing I could sugest would be to make contacts having activities on the calendar public and then reapply them after the activity has cleared.
Why do you feel syncing all contacts is unactable? is this for security reasons (don't want others to see the info) or for functional reasions (takes too long to sync)
