Calculated field Error

I've been getting the following message when trying to save a numeric calculation. I'm able to save other more simple calculations.

Incorrect syntax near the keyword 'then'.

TBL_SYSCOLUMN_TRI1:

The transaction ended in the trigger. The batch has been aborted.

I'm trying to enter the equation:

[weight] / ( ( [height_Feet]  * 12 + [height_inches] )* ( [height_Feet]  * 12 + [height_inches] ) )* 703

Act! Premium Version 16.1.207.0 Hot Fix 2

Thanks to anyone who can help me figure this out.

Re: Calculated field Error

It looks to me like missplaced parenthesis - in this case the square bracket.

Re: Calculated field Error

I'm not seeing any missplaced parenthesis. The calculation calulates correctly outside of ACT. This equation just has the ACT fields names plugged in.

*703 is in the denominator?

If yes, I think it is better to write it as below:

[weight] / ( ( [height_Feet]  * 12 + [height_inches] )* ( [height_Feet]  * 12 + [height_inches] ) * 703)

if no, I think it is better to write it as below:

( [weight]*703 ) / ( ( [height_Feet]  * 12 + [height_inches] )* ( [height_Feet]  * 12 + [height_inches] ))
