Best way to copy 2006 db to new server converting to 2008

Hi,

I'm migrating my ACT users from 2006 to 2008 version and putting the shared databases on a new SQL server. What's the best way to copy the databases from the 2006 server (SQL Express) to the new 2008 server (SQL 2005)?

Thanks

You can backup the database and restore the database in act 2008, which will bring in all the info you had in the old act

Not sure if the conversion works on a backup.

You may need to install ACT! 2008 on the current server, upgrade the database to 10.0, then backup - restore - restore_as on the new machine

In fact it does seem to work doing a simple restore. I did a restore to the new server and it immediatey prompted to upgrade the database, with an option to back it up again before upgrading.
