I have recently set up the Act! premium program for our company. because of the nature of our business we will be transferring records between lead generates and sales consultants. I'd like to have a date field auto populate with the date a change was made to a specific field, is this possible to do?
the aim is to be able to see what progress contacts are changed to on a daily basis and to be able to quickly look-up any contacts that were changed on any specific day. i.e look-up contacts that were changed to "call back" on "06/06/2019".
any help much appreciated.

If you don't want to use History records for this and do exactly as you had envisioned it, i.e. populate a date field with today's date when you change another field, you can do it with Automatic Field Calculations.
