Attachment shortcut locations

We recently had server problems so moved to a temporary one, and then finally to a new one.

This means some of our file attachments will no longer open, this is due to the first part of the file path being incorrect.

I know how to change each one individually but we have thousands!!  Does anyone know how to them in bulk please?

Re: Attachment shortcut locations

Hi, found a 'shortcuts search and replace' FOC & it had it all sorted in less than 10 minutes.

Check out the "AttachmentLinksUpdater" utility from the following ACT! 3rd Party Developer site:  http://www.adsprogramming.com/products/snapintools-for-act/

Hi.

Yes we have a tool for repairing broken links (not just in Act!). Check out https://seamlesscrm.co.uk/seamless-link-repair and watch the video.

Re: Attachment shortcut locations

Thank you both. Would ideally like a cheaper solution as they both seem a lot of money for changing file paths.

Re: Attachment shortcut locations

Well Becky,
Maybe a quick calculation of how long it would take to manually repair all the broken links you have multiplied by the hourly rate you will pay the person to do it. This will give you a cost benefit analysis.
On top of that, how long will it take to do it manually and can you guarentee 100% consistent and accurate results?
Someone using my app did aproximately 250k broken links in less than 5 minutes. Oh and you can run it in test mode to check you have got it right.
Kind Regards
Donald

Hi Becky,

That shortcut fixer sounds good.

Can you let us know how we can find it.

Many thanks.

Re: Attachment shortcut locations

Becky, Just curious how you used this? i thought the paths were listed within the database and not a separate location.
