All activities in task list suddenly scheduled for same contact?

We have a very unique problem that just appeared over the last few days. Every item scheduled for a particular user (each one with a different contact), has all of a sudden changed to be scheduled with the user instead of the contact. This has created quite a problem because now "Call to discuss YTD financials" used to be scheduled with the contact to call, and now it's scheduled with the user with no other clues.

 

Can anyone think of a way that every item on a task list (or perhaps it was done through the calendar) would be changed to be "scheduled with" the user instead of the contact?

  Was there any change to your database or the computer hosting the database recently?  Have you run database maintenance?  When you select any of these activities, are they scheduled for both the user and the client (Just to be sure) or only the user?

Nope, no changes to the database and I have not run any database maintenance. It only happened with one user, no one else has experienced any problems.

All of the activities that got changed were originally scheduled for the user, with different clients. Somehow all of the different clients got changed to the user, so the activities were scheduled with the user and for the user.

The plot thickens.

Now we are able to visibly see Sage do *something* that results in activities changing from being scheduled with a contact to being scheduled with the user who scheduled it.

User Angela will add an activity with David Smith, scheduled for tomorrow. She enters the time, regarding, details, etc, and clicks "okay." This activity shows up under her task list with his name, shows up under his activities, shows up on her calendar with his name.

Five minutes later, the activity is somehow rescheduled to be scheduled with Angela. It has disappeared from David's activity list, and is on her calendar and task list with her own name. All other information (regarding, details, time, etc) has held.

This is only affecting one user but is creating a huge problem when we suddenly don't know what activities were scheduled with which contact since they are all spontaneously changing over to be the user.

Does anyone have any suggestions for possible fixes, possible causes, anything we can do to remedy this issue?

Is the user synching with Outlook or Google?  I can see where it might happen if there was a problem with synching with one of those two.  Especially if the contacts weren't being synched.  I haven't seen or heard of the problem before though.

Bumping this again. A run of the database repair appeared to have fixed the problem, however to our dismay is has returned.

In this case, a user was changing activities to be scheduled for himself to being scheduled with user Angela. In the process of changing the "Schedule For" information, about half of the activities changed over also changed the "Scheduled with" from a customer contact to user Angela's contact.

A quick review of user Angela's task list shows several other instances where the "Scheduled With" has apparently spontaneously changed from a customer contact to user Angela's contact.

I am really hoping that someone from ACT can address this because it is creating huge problems for us.

We are on Act Premium 13, and this appears to be happening only with one user of 14.
