Adding Holidays to Calendar

Hi Everyone,

I am currently using ACT! 2008 Premium.

I would like to add US and Canada Holidays to my Calendar in Act.

When I used ACT! 2005/2006 there was an Add-on that I purchased to do this.

Does anyone know if this Add-on is still available? If it is, does any one know the web address?

Yes, I know I can sync with MS Outlook however, I only have MS Outlook 2003 and the Holidays are a bit off in this version for the year 2008 and above.

Thanks in advance for any help in this matter.

Re: Adding Holidays to Calendar

The only one I know was created by an ACT! Certified Consultant - Ron Madara of The Westphal Group in NJ

According to the ACC list, he now works here - http://www.ew-associates.com/

I don't know if he kept it up-to-date

Hi, Sheila!

I did the same for outlook, then synched it to ACT!. I believe that this is the only way to do it.

Good luck!

Re: Adding Holidays to Calendar

You might need to check the dates in the Outlook one... while I haven't used it (don't think they have versions for outside US), I have heard US people say some of the dates are wrong.

Also, with ACT!, if you create a Holiday contact, you can create the activities for the administrator and add each of the users so they appear in each users' calendar

Re: Adding Holidays to Calendar

Sheila, Here's an easy way to pull in all those national holidays from Outlook 2003:

How to import Holidays into your ACT calendar using Outlook:
1) First create all the Holidays in Outlook 2003:
Pulldown tools, select Options,
click on Preferences tab,
click on Calendar Options button,
click on Add Holidays button,
select United States (and/or Canada, etc.),
click OK.

2) then pull those Holidays into ACT:
Pulldown Tools, point to Outlook Activities,
select Update Activities,
select "One-Way from Outlook Calendar to ACT! Calendar",
select all of this year as the date range,
click OK

We repeat this every year in January.

If using Outlook 2002, you need to add a patch to bring in holidays from 2006 -2012, since 2002 does not include anything after 2005. the patch is located at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=EA8DF27B-3130-47AA-AB09-E99F4BE721A5&displa...
