Add External ODBC Field to a Layout

I am working on the 30 trial of premium at the moment and am wondering if anyone knows how to add a field from an external ODBC compliant database to an ACT layout.  Our shipping program among others is ODBC compliant and I would love for our Account Managers to be able to see recent shipment information and tracking info for a customer right from their record wihtin ACT.

Thanks in advance....

Not standard in ACT!... you could use a plugin to do it (I'm not aware of a comercial product available so might need to be a custom program), or use a product like itImport to bring the data directly into ACT!

You may want to peruse the downloads section of the ActDevNet community found elsewhere in this community.

It seems to me they posted some kind of a control that allows you to see external data - don't think it was just a field, but a new tab...

In any case, they have tons of cool stuff there and your might come up with other ideas
