Environment: Act! 16 on Win Server 201. Local access Windows 7 workstation
The calendar function stopped working. Yesterday there were calendar entries; today none appear. When I try to enter a new calendar entry, I get the following: "Error: Invalid recur spec. Monthly named-day pattern with no Modifier." The item I am entering is not a recurring event.
Note: Act! Scheduler is stopped on the server and it will not restart.
(Other than having to re-register everytime I restart the workstation, I haven't had any issues with Act! since I upgraded to v16.)

Thanks for the links. None of them are applicable.
My calendar has (had) numerous calendar entries. When I went to the Calendar last Thursday, the existing enteries were absent; they had disappeared.
When I attempted to enter an new item in the calendar, I got an error message related to recurring entries ... but ... I was attempting to add a single calendar entry, not a recurring entry. Something is broken.

Try this and let me know - cheers - Bill

Still no luck. I ended up removing some LogMeIn registry entries that were affecting the windows services control management but that had no affect on the problem.
The calendar entries that were in the calendar on Wednesday of last week are still not visible and I cannot enter new entries on the calendar.
If the calendar requires the ACT! Scheduler, then it has been running for nearly one and one half years. The server shows the service. It is stopped. It does not respond to the start services function.
BTW: The entire error message is in the original posting. The only way an error appears is if I try to enter a new calendar item. The error message is as stated in the original post.
This is becoming a nightmare.

The error means that you have a recurring activity that has an invalid recurrence specification in it. For example the activity is supposed to occur monthly on the first Thursday of the month and for some reason the Thursday value didn't get set in the record. You'll need to send the database in to someone in database services or have an Act! consultant that knows how to fix it do it for you. I can fix it but I charge a fee for it. If you would like to discuss it send me a private email or call me at the number listed on my website.

What is your exact version/build of ACT!v16? Reference Help / About and post that info back here please.
Insure you have most recent service pak and hotfix.
Check it out and apply it from the website not from inside your ACT! software.
For ACT!v16 Pro, your should be on service pak1 hotfix1 - get it here http://act.com/support/downloads/act-pro-v16/
For ACT!v16 Premium, also service pak1 hotfix1 - get it here http://act.com/support/downloads/act-premium-v16/
If you already have that,
Close act and any other apps, browsers, etc..
list the databases and using the button just to the left of db name.
Try the repair options or I recommed the Rebuild options. Reference the ACT! knowledge base for help
Re-install ACT! ?
Best I can do on this one- good luck - Bill
