Act premium service quits without reason, or warning. SQL (act7)

Hi,

Act Premium is instaled on Ms2008 server (SBS setup).

The service SQL (act7) quits without obvious reason several times a day. This forces u to start it again and we don't know what to do. Does somebody have a clue? Or is there a way to trace the reason of this quiting? There is nog error log visible

You should be able to see events related to this in the standard Windows Server Event logs - look in system log, application log, and perhaps even check security.

Small Business server - in a 'normal' installation - will have one or more instances of SQL express running also.  This should not impact Act! instance, but hey, check it out...

Also check firewall settings and AV as possible conflicting items.

Hi,

This did shed light on the matter. the service stopped at 02:00 everyday, but there was no error message, just an informational message in the logs. The reason was that an update was about to be installed which failed, thus presenting an endless loop. the soutiona after some googling was to alter a key in the registry. Now the services seems to stay, but we will see how it goes furter on.

thanx for the response!
