Act locks up when I try to open an opportunity or create a new one

But wait... there's more. I use an IBM thinkpad. When I'm in the office with laptop plugged into my port replicator (additional monitor, keyboard, printer) I have no problems with opportunities. When I travel (which is a lot) I can't access any opportunities as Act completely locks up if I try to open an existing opportunity, or create a new one. I then have to ctl alt del to close the program and reopen. This has reduced Act to a glorified address book. Anyone experience this, or have any fixes?

What version of ACT! (from Help | About)?
Does this happen if you open the demo database and open and opportunity?

running Act premium 9.01... and yes, tried it with the demo database and experienced the same problem.

If it happens in the demo database, it's possible that an ACT! file has become damaged. You might need to reinstall ACT!... or maybe it's the monitor it's looking for.
 
Reinstall while not in the replicator.

thanks for the info... tried re installing program with no luck. Just got an e-mail from my IT guy... thinks it might be a video driver with my laptop.

That would explain why it works when plugged into the replicaor with monitor
