Hi Angelsolutions and thanks for posting your concerns.
Regarding eMail attachments to ACT - I never set my Outlook eMails to automatically attach to ACT. I prefer to do that one at a time.
Regarding sending out eMails, I will attach to the contact, but generally only keep the subject line.
Finally, I found a really useful product called eMailConnectProfessional (www.actaddons.eu) about 10 or so years ago. I am not part of the company but whole heartedly recommend it. The strongest feature for me right now is the ability to manage eMails directly in Outlook by ...
These are all in a drop down list from a right click on the eMail.

We have recently released Xact Inbox which is a very stable, well engineered integration of Act! and Outlook that does not suffer from the issues you raise.
There is both a paid (premium) and also a limited time offer for a free (standard) version that you can install. For more information refer Xact Inbox

I would strongly advise to stick with 22.214.171.124, Update 4 unless you are having some sort of serious issues that need to be resolved and you feel upgrading is your only option. I "upgraded" from v126.96.36.199, Update 4 to v188.8.131.52, Update 1, and it is a total train wreck. Have spent over 5 hours on line with support so far and they have not been able to get Outlook integration working. No outgoing or incoming emails are getting attached. I'm appalled at how half-baked the new Outlook integration system is.
The new Outlook integration interface (from inside Outlook) is a huge step backwards:
- can only attach a single email at a time - can no longer multi-select emails and then click attach
- no longer lists company field in contact selection box so no way to differentiate multiple contact with same name,
- extremely slow on loading contacts from groups, companies, etc., Takes me 1-2 minutes to manually attach a single email (when the interface is even working).
- the add-in does not remember your settings between session, so you will get very familiar with how to set them!
- contact selection dialog stays at 'top of screen' so overruns other programs,
- almost zero support documentation aside from this single page: https://help.act.com/hc/en-us/articles/360048637693
- after attach, you now MUST waste time to clear a notification dialogue telling you that you just attached an email. Jeesh!
... and these are only the issues I've had with Outlook integration. There are more problems that I've not even had time yet to begin addressing (memory errors, can no longer create notes, toolbars are all messed up...).
Have uninstalled/reinstalled Outlook and ACT, redeployed dB, created new Outlook profiles, made registry edits, ... but no solution found so far.
Maybe you may have better luck, but if not then, like me, you will be wishing you had never wasted time 'upgrading'.
Sorry if this sounds like a rant, but thought you may want to hear from someone other than the Swiftpage cheerleader squad.
My support contract is up at the end of the month. So, if I can't get v22 working before then, then I will be rolling back to v21 and forgoing renewal of my annual subscription.

OUCH! Reminds me of changing from V6 to 7 or 8, or when they started to use .Net... tough years...
This version works as perfectly as I need it to work and will stay put for now. Thanks and I'm very sorry for you with these issues

Meant to reply yesterday after talking with support for a while. The even admitted there are several issues and development are working on them now.
Sorry for the delay.

I upgraded to Version 184.108.40.206, Update 1 earlier this week. My Outlook emails are not syncing into Act. I'm now contemplating another 60-minute call with support to downgrade back to V21.

TLDR - still broken after update 2...
Update 2 just released today. The support team advised me that this would fix the Outlook integration issues. Installed it, but unfortunately, this did not fix the problem :-(
Emails are still not getting automatically attached.
One minor improvement is that when manually attaching emails, the interface in Outlook now lists the companies or groups in alpha-numerical order. Prior to this update, they were listed in seemingly random order which, as you can guess, adds even more time to hunt through the list.
Still can only manually attach one single email at a time. Grrrrr!!!!
Bottom line, the basic Outlook integration functionality is still broken.

I saw that release this morning, but since we all use RDBs and sync to the cloud, our server will not be updated until Saturday.
I can't tell from your post if you are hosted in the cloud or not. If you are, then ask if your server has been updated.
When I logged on to our cloud image, the version was still 220.127.116.11, Update 1.
If this doesn't apply to you, it may apply to others who forgot that the server also has to be upgraded. For us, the server will be upgraded this weekend on Saturday.
Good luck Chris.
